Are you feeling discouraged and disheartened? Need more light as we come into the darkest time of the year? Come listen to beautiful and powerful songs and then (if you choose) raise your voice in peace and protest! This event will be hosted and led by Leela Grace and her group, ResistSing! A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the ACLU (as they protect the rights and liberties of people across the country, including protecting free speech and the right to protest, defending reproductive freedom, fighting anti-LGBTQ discrimination, and safeguarding the rights of refugees and immigrants).
The first 30 minutes will be a performance by ResistSing and then we will invite everyone to learn and sing powerful songs of peace, protest, resistance, and justice. Raise your voices together. Learn songs to take to your communities, into the streets, and into your hearts for the hard moments. All songs will be taught by ear -- no singing experience necessary. All ages and genders are welcome and all voices are invited in, regardless of singing experience (or lack thereof). Come SING! No one turned away due to lack of funds. You are also welcome to just listen!
Space is limited -- pre-registration is highly recommended to guarantee a spot. Questions? Email firstname.lastname@example.org
