(FALL) Songs for the Resistance: ResistSing Fall 2019 NEW Members Class!
Sundays, 3:00-4:45pm, starting Sunday, September 22, 2019*
(Scroll down to register!)
We need to sing! Are you feeling discouraged by the state of our country and our world? Trying to find a way to lift your spirits and raise your voice against the darkness? We are women** who sing songs of peace, power, love, and resistance. ResistSing was created, and is directed, by Leela Grace in Portland, Oregon. We have been found singing onstage and in the streets... Join us!
This will be a 9 or 10-week series of classes/rehearsals preparing for a special event at 6pm on Sunday, December 8th (and other possible marches/public singing opportunities)! We will be learning powerful songs in 3-part harmony. All songs will be taught by ear and some practice time at home will likely be needed to commit the songs to memory. Lyric sheets and audio files are provided. If you cannot afford the full price, please use the reduced or scholarship price option. We need your voice! You are welcome to join if you have a little (or a lot of) singing experience and feel passionate about the power of music to change the world! If you aren't able to attend at least 6 out of 9 of the rehearsals, please get in touch with Leela to see if something can be worked out.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions, if you want to try out joining the group without signing up for the full session, and/or if cost is still a barrier to joining.
*There will be no class September 29 and one other Sunday -- either October 6 or December 1. We will also meet on Sunday, December 8 prior to the performance.
**If you identify as a woman, you are welcome to join us.
