Rose City Folk Chorus, Portland's *folking* awesome group of harmony singers, directed by Leela Grace, will present our first concert in over two years!
When: Sunday, June 26, 2022
Time: 3:30pm (gather) 4:00pm (concert)
Where: Oxbow Regional Park, Coho Picnic Shelter
Cost: Free (donations gratefully accepted)
Details: Bring a picnic and join us out by the Sandy River for a program of songs, arranged by Leela in three-part harmony! We will be singing songs by artists ranging from the Wailin' Jennys to Pat Humphries, from Brandi Carlile and Alicia Keys to Bill Staines and more! We will be meeting rain or shine under the Coho picnic shelter at Oxbow Regional Park, just east of Portland! Map and info can be found here: https://www.oregonmetro.gov/sites/default/files/2018/09/27/Oxbow-Park-Coho-picnic-shelter-map.pdf.
If you map to the following address, you should be directed into the park to the Coho shelter (also designated as shelter C): 5119-4979 SE Oxbow Park Rd, Gresham, OR 97080. The concert is free but donations will be gratefully accepted.
We rehearsed during the Winter-Spring season via Zoom for 10 weeks and the concert was originally planned for April 9... Due to unexpected weather and Leela being at the very end of her pregnancy, the show had to be postponed! We simply cannot wait to finally hear our voices ring out across the valley in harmony!
Note: There is a $5/vehicle fee to enter Oxbow Park. NO PETS and NO ALCOHOL are allowed in the park. Audience members will be asked to wear a mask when gathered under the pavilion during the performance. Thank you for your understanding!

Since the dawn of humanity, we have always sung in joy and in sadness; sung in community; sung in sacred times and in every day work... These have been a challenging couple of years, but we must keep singing; we must find a way! We can all sing. Come experience the beauty born in the joy of using our voices and creating harmonies together -- even as we learn the songs over a computer screen and finally gather wearing masks! It is all part of caring for each other and keeping our community safe. We can't wait to share these beautiful songs with you...
