Clawhammer Banjo III with Leela Grace

Picture
This class is designed for clawhammer banjo players who have taken Leela's Banjo I and II classes or for intermediate players with existing skills who want to take their banjo playing to the next level! You will be learning an awesome collection of cool new tunes in a variety of tunings, continuing to focus on rhythm, flow, efficient learning, and having fun!

For this class, you should know how to tune your banjo, change tunings, and use a capo, be comfortable with the frailing/clawhammer strum at a moderate to fast tempo, be familiar with slides, pull-offs, and hammer-ons and some drop thumbing, and know at least several tunes and chords in the G tuning (as well as alternate tunings). The focus will be on expanding your repertoire and moving your playing to the next level. Leela will provide clear, step-by-step instructions for learning tunes, ideas for improving tone and technique, and access to resources (tablature, handouts, audio files, video clips, and more) to assist you in your at-home practice!

The class will meet virtually via Zoom and each session will be recorded. If the live class time doesn't work for you, you can still sign up to receive the handouts, audio files, and the video recording of the full class.

Students ages 12 and up are welcome in this class. Please contact Leela about younger students.
Note: The class will be limited to 20 participants. Pre-registration is required. Questions? Send an email to [email protected].
