2024 WINTER-SPRING IN PERSON CLASS COVID-19 SAFETY PROTOCOLS
This will be only the second time since early 2020 that Rose City Folk School has offered fully in-person classes. Much is known now about the ways that COVID-19 is spread, including the elevated risks associated with group singing in indoor spaces and the devastating impacts that repeated infections continue to have on many, from high-risk individuals to previously healthy people. Additionally, during the winter and early spring months, we know that multiple respiratory viruses are circulating widely.
Therefore, in the interest of making these classes as safe as possible and accessible to everyone, including vulnerable, high-risk members of our community, we will be asking/requiring the following:
1. Vaccination plus booster(s) -- strongly suggested.
2. Well-fitting masks worn indoors, especially when singing. N95 or KN94 strongly requested.
3. We may go to masks optional as respiratory illness season wanes if everyone is comfortable. We will maintain this as a space where immunocompromised and otherwise vulnerable community members can safely sing, which may mean continuing universal masking if needed. This determination will be made by anonymous survey.
4. Please no attendance with symptoms (Note: We will have a Zoom portal set up so anyone who has to miss a class/rehearsal can be there virtually or watch the recording later)
5. We will always have windows open and an air filter running, regardless of weather, so dress accordingly!
Please get in touch with Leela if you have any questions.
